2006(#1)
Newsletter - April 2006
Latest Andornot News
Spring is here and the Andornot team has
been busy working on many new projects and add-ons to Inmagic products.
Upcoming Conferences
Conference season
is starting up again and we hope to meet some of you at the following events
in the next couple of months.
We will be demonstrating Inmagic Genie and Genie
Express plus dtSearch and some of the applications we have
been working on.
Inmagic Notes
- Special offers this quarter: Inmagic has recently
released Genie Express and we are able to provide
introductory prices until the end of June. In
addition, Genie version 2.1 has been released this week.
Please contact us to review your current system and discuss whether either of these products might be right for you.
We will also be
making some special conference season promotions available to
all our clients. Contact us
for more details.
- Maintenance renewals. We will usually contact you a couple
of months before your renewal is due to ensure that we have time to
process the renewal and discuss your ongoing requirements. If
you have let your maintenance lapse and are interested in
catching up and getting the current version again, please
contact us for pricing.
- Inmagic Genie. Inmagic recently announced
the 100th sale of Inmagic Genie and there are now
several case studies available on the
Inmagic website. Version 2.1 has just been released and
Andornot will be contacting our Genie clients shortly to discuss
upgrading. This latest version incorporates many new features
and enhancements and allows additional configurability.
- Genie Express. This new product may be an
ideal option for clients who currently have just a catalogue
that they wish to make available with a web based search and
data entry interface. However if you are currently using the
Library Module for other library administrative functions such
as Loans or Serials, you may wish to look at the full Genie
instead. Note: the Library Module is no longer being
enhanced by Inmagic. However it is still available for clients
with more limited budgets.

New and updated websites
Andornot is proud to present our latest designs and applications using Inmagic’s WebPublisher Pro.
Most use our
WebPublisher Developer Kit (WPDK) to provide templating for
integration with the client's website, and shopping cart or
requesting functionality. Take a look and see what is possible!
BCIT
- Aviation Training Collection - British Columbia
This image archive collection uses Andornot's WPDK and
ImageHandler
system to automatically generate thumbnails of scanned photographs.
Interior
Health Libraries - British Columbia
This site was redesigned to integrate with the client's
intranet and features a new requesting cart.
Jewish
General Hospital - Quebec
This site features integration with a fairly complex site
template.
Railroad
Museum of Pennsylvania - Library, Archives,
Pictorial
Collections - Pennsylvania
This multi-textbase web site features a Library Catalog and
prototypes of Archives Collection, Pictorial Collection, and Baldwin
Specification Cards Collection catalogues. Each contains a
Quick Search and Advanced Search interface as well as an auto-boolean script that automatically inserts the "&"
when entering search terms to mimic a Google type
interface. This site plans to officially
launch in late spring.
Resource Centre for Voluntary Organizations (RCVO) -
Alberta
This site features extensive lists of canned searches to allow
users to browse topics as well as enter search terms.
River
Valley Health - New Brunswick
As with many of our hosted sites, the design of this new
catalogue interface was handled entirely through email and the
use of our Getting Started checklist to configure the
requesting cart.
Vancouver
Coastal Health - British Columbia
Redesign to match the new organization web template.
Contact
us if you would like more information about our design and
consulting services and how we can enhance your online presence.
Many of these sites are hosted by Andornot - if you have
problems with getting your IT department to load the software
and publish your site, please contact us for pricing on this
service.
