MARC Transformer
The MARC* Transformer converts information obtained in MARC Communications
format and loads the data into a DB/TextWorks or CS/TextWorks database, thus eliminating
the need to enter bibliographic and serials information manually.
As well, data from a TextWorks database can also be exported and
run through the MARC Transformer to create MARC records ready for uploading
to shared or union catalogs. The MARC Transformer was developed for
Inmagic by Information Transform, Inc., maker of the acclaimed MITINET/marc
Software.
*MAchine Readable Cataloging tags provide a
means to identify different parts of a bibliographic record so that
a common vocabulary and a common record format can be shared among computer
systems.
