Inmagic® WebPublisherPRO: Beyond the basics workshop
Are you a new user of WebPublisher PRO and want to get up and running
fast? Or... have you been using the program for years, but need tips
on how to update the look and maximize the effectiveness of your Web
databases? Come and join us for an informative and fun session where
we will guide you through practical techniques to improve the user
experience and functionality of the software
In the workshop we will integrate WebPublisher PRO search and results
with an existing website, showing how to best edit exported search
pages, and how to add site navigation to results pages. If you have
many databases or even just the one, editing the search page and all
your reports each time your site look and feel changes can be time
consuming. We will cover options to minimize the work involved in site
upkeep and redesigns through style sheets and website templates. We
will also discuss enhancements to exported query screens such as radio
buttons, dropdowns, and checkboxes to guide users in selecting the
number of records to display, the results form to be used, and other
choices.
Of course, we will include a section on Web based editing - how to
use access control fields when you wish to give others Web data entry
access to your database, and how to simplify the experience for them
by employing radio buttons, checkboxes, etc. to control input.
Andornot has established a reputation for innovative applications
and we will share some ideas and best practices for taking your use
of WebPublisher PRO to the next level. Peter Tyrrell and Denise Bonin
will be presenting the workshop and both have received high ratings
as workshop presenters. If you have ever read Peter's postings to the
Inmagic forums and Andornot
Developer blog you will know he has a unique sense of humour as well
as being an accomplished Web developer.
The cost of the workshop will include a selection of scripts that
Andornot has developed to provide additional control over the standard
WebPublisher PRO output, with easy to follow instructions to allow you
to implement these in your own application.
This workshop was presented at the 8th SLA Annual Conference in Toronto - June 11, 2005.
Future dates will be announced in our
newsletter. We can also
deliver one on one training covering selected sections of the workshop via
WebEx.
