Provincial Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired (PRCVI)

PRCVI's new Vision Teacher and Resource Contacts database has just been launched. Other databases include catalogues of Visual Impairment and Print Disability materials with login and ordering options.

PRCVI's integrated library system uses the Andornot Library Kit (ALK) as well as the WebPublisher Developer Kit and ImageHandler for their online databases.

Law Society of Newfoundland

The Law Society of Newfoundland hired Andornot Consulting to upgrade their Law Library web catalogue using parts of the Andornot Starter Kit. The textbase web forms utilizes DB/TextWorks seams to integrate their web site template.

Arctic Health Publications Database

The Arctic Health Publications Database contains bibliographic information, abstracts, and links to full-text journal articles, reports, newspapers, conference proceedings, grey literature, and other documents and non-print materials.

Andornot Consulting recently redesigned their web search results interface to allow users to email, save or print selected results.

AADAC Addictions Resources Catalogue

The updated web interface now includes more payment options for orders from the public (including credit card processing) and a login system for staff and agencies to bypass this when requesting items.

dtSearch version 7.3 released

dtSearch has announced Version 7.3 of the dtSearch product line, including preliminary support for Word 2007 (*.docx) and Excel 2007 (*.xlsx), based on the current Office 2007 beta and available documentation. For detailed release notes, please see:

dtSearch has also announced beta testing of dtSearch Version 7.4, with a new option to automatically recognize dates, email addresses, and credit card numbers during indexing. Inmagic Genie version 3.0 released

Inmagic, Inc. today announced the general release of Version 3.0 of its web-based Genie integrated library system. (press release)

Genie v3.0 includes some exciting new features such as:

• My Library functionality - users can log in to view their open loans, overdues, reserves, and the serials that are routed to them.
• A Librarian's Dashboard to quickly view the status of various library operations, i.e. overdue loans; late serials, active reserves etc.
• Integration with BookWhere software to import MARC records.
• Support for the Firefox browser for OPAC users.
