ODBC Drivers
ODBC Drivers to allow open access to DB/TextWorks
databases are available in two versions.
The desktop version for workstations is
installed on a local hard drive and enables the user to query a
local DB/TextWorks database or one on a network file server.
The server version of the ODBC Driver is a
component of WebPublisher PRO. It is designed to support
Web-based applications, such as editing records from a Web browser,
or for building Web applications using third-party Web development
tools such as Cold Fusion or ASP.NET that enable users to interact
with Inmagic databases on the corporate intranet.
The ODBC Driver processes SQL statements and ODBC function calls
against the DB/Text database engine, and provides a way to obtain
information from, and write information to, DB/TextWorks textbases.
The textbases you plan to access can be anywhere that is accessible
to the ODBC Driver.
All clients with a current version of DB/Text WebPublisher
PRO are entitled to a free copy of the server version of the
ODBC driver. However, as not all clients will want to utilize
this driver, a specific request needs to be made to Inmagic (advantage@inmagic.com) to
obtain the download information.
